Do animals have souls? (a late answer)?

You seem to have answered your own question. The second person of the Godhead came as a man, to die for the world (social order- which does not include animals (beasts)). In Genesis 1:1-6 there is an understanding;

: 1 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.
2: All that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered. And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon
: 3 Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.
: 4 But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.
: 5 And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man’s brother will I require the life of man.
: 6 Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

Notice God states the continued dominion of man over beast. God, now, includes meat, among other things, in mans’ allowable diet. However, no meat is allowed to be eaten that still contains blood, which is the ‘life of the flesh’ (contains the essential nutrients of the body; eating blood is the same as murdering in order to steal someone’s ‘life’ possessions to God; or in this case – someone’s possession of life (including an animal’s possession of life)).

In verse ‘5′ God specifies the reason for the previous verses and verse ‘6′ (verse ‘5′ comes before verse ‘6’ in stated scripture, but comes after verse ‘6’ in understanding). Obviously verse ‘6’ cannot be true of animals. Animals are not created in God’s own image or after His likeness – Genesis 1:26-27. Whoso (whosoever) that sheds man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed (this is in addition to the contents of verse ‘5’ – impending justice by man or beast). In order to be able to eat meat, an animals’ blood must be shed. Temporal sacrifices required an animals shed blood (in foreshadowing Christ’s shed blood in payment for our sins). The implication is if someone murders another human being, they are actually trying to kill off or remove the presence (face, image, or representation) of God from before them. Animals don’t have this tendency or problem. And, as with Cain, the useless wasting of a life is an idolatrous step away from God. An idol is anyone or anything that is between God and us. When we turn from God we are placing ourselves (our desires, and whatever we choose to be our way) before God, which can be understood to be ‘self’. We were created, as all of Gods’ creatures were, to give worship and praise to God alone; not to worship and praise God means we will give them to someone or something. We were created to do this and it is inherent; we must give worship and praise, so, if we won’t give them to God, we will give them to another creation (whether existing in fact or of our mind’s creation). Since this is a product of ‘self’ it is actually worship and praise of ourselves, no matter where they are directed. Creation reflects creation; wherever we direct praise and worship, they are reflected back for us to see. But it is our ‘self-worship’ and our ‘self-praise’ that we emit. We have chosen the idol worship of self and it is self that is worshipped and praised as God of our lives. Animals don’t have this problem since what they do is ‘habitual’. They worship and praise God just by being what they were created to be and using the abilities God placed within them. They are habitual in what they do. We make choices and advance or retract by our ‘decisions’ and ‘actions’.

Only humans have souls. There are various types of flesh (1 Corinthians 15:39). The spirit is the part of us that communicates with God, where our ‘mind’ is located (our brain is physical since we exist in a natural realm; our mind, however, is spiritual (1 Corinthians 2:11). The soul is the ’seat of the emotions’. This is where the feelings and emotions come from; lust, hate, anger, etc. Though we need to be ’sanctified’ (cleansed and set apart for God’s use while being cleansed) body, soul, and spirit (1 Thessalonians 5:22-24). Matthew 10:28 shows the body and soul as the potential receivers of eternal punishment, not the spirit (Job 2:6). Jesus came to procure salvation for the soul. Proverbs 11:30; Leviticus 4:30; Numbers 15:8; Ezekiel 18; 4, 20 all refer to humans as ‘souls’ (God Himself refers to humans as souls in Lev. 4:30). Animals are never referred to as ‘souls’ in scripture. Animals have bodies and spirits of a different connotation than humans, but still gives them life and a line of communication with God based on their basic existence. Sid of Sough – The relevancy of my contemplation should be clear enough since, all I did was answer a young person’s question, which has only been enhanced by the fact of your sudden awakening and response to an area in life you obviously are unknowledgeable in. I answered, what is actually, a spiritual question. Also, since angels are of various heights, from at least the size of the average man or less up to 80 feet or more, I would assume it would depend on the size of the pin.
